About Boquete
Boquete is a charming town located in the high lands of the Chiriqui province, republic of panama. It’s a valley surrounded of mountains of fertile lands in the hillsides of the inactive Barú volcano; where the wild flowers grow by the shores of the roads crossed from north to south. Bye the majestic and charming Caldera River.
Is was founded in April 11 for people that came form neighboring districts and for European and north American emigrants, whose influence is felt now days with the architecture of the place.
Its people are framers dedicated to the cultivation of vegetables, flowers and coffee, this last grain, known and winered worldly the fist place in the several occasions.
The population is about 17000 inhabitants and has a surface of 541kim. The heights is approximately between 300 meters south and 3000 meters north over the seas level.
Is climate has two stations; the winter season (from May to November) and the summer season (from December to April) and its temperature stays 20ºc all the year.
Boquete has taken peak and recognition in the last year, after been recognized by an into study as the bourth best place of the world to live and retire.
Another thing wich has enough fame is the famous path of the quetzals wich is one of the few places in the world where you could appreciate this beautiful bird that lives with risks of extinction. The quetzal attracts many experts and birds lovers to these lands where more than 40 species have been recognized.
